Jeffrey L. Morris, Jr. 55 of Newburyport and formerly of Salem, MA. died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on March 12, 2024 at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Jeff was born on August 10, 1968 in Salem, MA to Carol (Leslie) Morris and the late Jeffrey L. Morris, Sr.
After a career in the culinary arts and the auto glass industry, Jeff beat cancer and heart surgery. After his recovery, he knew he wanted to focus on the things in life that brought joy into his life; golf, fishing, basketball and family. He worked at Sun n Air Driving Range. When he wasn’t playing golf, he would help anyone with their game just because it made him happy. If he wasn’t golfing, you could find him out on his boat fishing or taking someone out fishing with him. On Saturdays in the winter he was out on the court running The Saturday Morning Cartoon League in Salem which was started by his father. The basketball league has been running for more than 45 years and Jeff took over in 1992.
. He loved sharing his passions with everyone and found joy even in the smallest forms of socializing. Jeff's gregarious spirit touched the lives of so many people. He will forever leave an impact on those who knew him.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Carol Clements and her husband Jim of Kingston, NH and his beloved wife, Gillian “Jill” (Gregg) Morris of Newburyport and their cherished daughter, Lyndsay E .Morris of Newburyport, his sister, Leanne Lavoie and her husband Brian of Rowley and his brother-in-law, James W. Gregg of Port Clyde, ME; as well as a nephew, nieces, and several cousins and extended family members.
